Frequently Asked Questions

What are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are a technique used by certified artists whom applies a synthetic/man-made lash to the natural lash. It enhances curliness, volume, and length through a variety of lash styles. Technicians apply the lash about 2mm above the lash line with a semi permanent bonder to about 80-100% of your natural lashes. They are applied using specifically designed tweezers. There are a variety of styles like classic, hybrid, volume, cat eye, doll eye, and many more depending what the individual desires!

How long is the lash extension process?

A fulls set lash extension appointment can take from 1.5-2.5 hours long depending on every individuals natural eye shape and lash health.

How long do extensions last?

Lash extensions can last roughly between 5-6 weeks! Depending on the person some people may need/want fills every 2-4 weeks. Many things can negatively affect the retention of your lashes like natural lash sheds, makeup, humidity, oil, sleeping on them, rubbing or picking at them! In order to help your retention last longer use lash shampoo daily and give yourself a lash bath (you can purchase from your lash tech), get fills frequently, refrain from oily products near your eyes and picking at them.

Do extensions damage your natural lashes?

No, absolutely not as long as they are applied properly. Our lash techs are trained to apply extensions in the safest way for out natural lashes. They do this by isolating each individual lash before applying an extension. This way when your natural lash falls on its own so will your lash. We are trained to only use width and lengths that your natural lashes can healthily hold, this means if you want a certain style that will be too heavy for your lashes we may turn down your request and offer something lighter and safer. So please make sure to listen to your lash techs advice as they want what's best for your lashes!

Can I swim/shower with lash extensions?

Yes absolutely! Thats the best thing about lash extensions, you can shower, swim wake up and still have lovely lash extensions! We always recommend waiting 24 hours from your appointment to do so just to ensure the bonding process. Aside from that we encourage washing your lashes as keeping them clean promotes retention and avoids infections. After your lashes get wet we recommend brushing them to separate the lashes from sticking to one another and if desired you can blow dry them (keep the blow dryer 2 feet away from your face) and brush them to regain fluffiness and volume!

How should I prepare for my appointment?

To prepare for your lash appointment come in with no makeup on, especially around the eye area. Make sure you have removed any left over mascara and take out contacts if you wear them. Refrain from drinking coffee before your appointment as it makes us less relaxed and our eyes become more twitchy. For your comfort feel free to bring headphones and a blanket to create all time relaxation!

How do I know if I have allergies/irritation?

Please inform your lash tech if you have any allergies PRIOR to your appointment. It is important to keep your eyes relaxed and closed as opening them can let fumes enter the eye as well as other dangers. It is possible for people to build allergies over time even if they have been getting lash extensions for years. If you are concerned we recommend doing a spot test! Reach out to your lash tech and we do a free spot test which entails putting 2-4 extensions and waiting 72 hours to see if you have a reaction. This will prevent any large reactions from occurring. If any do occur go to a doctor immediately!

What is the difference between classics, hybrids & volumes?

Classic lash extensions means we bond one synthetic/man-made lash to every isolated natural lash on your eye. This creates a natural look! Volume lash extensions means we bond fans (a cluster of 4-8 lashes with a thinner diameter) to every individual isolated lash. This creates a fuller look! Hybrid lash extensions is a mix of both classic and volume lashes, it creates a wispy look. Mega Volume lash extensions means fans are bonded (a cluster of 8-12 lashes with a winner diameter) to every individual lash! Keep in mind not everyone can do this look depending on their natural lash health! Reach out to your lash tech for information on gaining healthier natural lashes so you can obtain this if you can't.
